Lino LIPLIP

1966 Corvette

The last couple of days I’ve been maniacally carving on a lino block with an idea that has been in my head for over a year. I am still struggling with how best to execute it. Lino felt like the quickest way to get it out into the world, but I don’t know that it’s THE final way this piece will exist. Let me know—do you think it rocks this way or should it be a big, colorful, luscious painting? Is it weird to do the same subject / series in several very different mediums? Hmm…

This will eventually be a series—I have 3 or 4 more in my head ready to come out, just hunting for the right cars to reference… Credit for this one goes to Tom VanNess at Farland Cars.

Also, anybody got any advice for how to do lino carving without every muscle in your body hurting!?
